Personally I cannot remember such a brilliant display.

We have beaten teams before well like the preston 1st game of the season like the swindon drubbing.

Nothing compared to the football and effort through the whole team. Dickenson, Dack, Egan, osadabe, oshilaja all of them were just immense. We did not let them settle on the ball at any time. We starved their strikers of the supply line. We threw bodies in, just brilliant, truly brilliant.

For me I would have to go back to the championship days to when I last saw us play that well throughout the team.

I agree, the whole feel around the club is positive. New exciting things to engage the fans behind the scenes, great new food, new facilities (I'm told) and a new team coupled with the club really engaging the fans through social media that helped to boost the numbers. The noise was superb, better than even when we won the league as that needed encouraging. Loved every second although I'm very hoarse today!

Young hungry players that have yet to gel, it bodes very well but we were allowed to play and we have very attacking players that can capitilise on it. The question is whether we can break sides down if they try and stifle that play. That's when experience will count and we don't have a lot of that. Every player was 9/10 in my book. You can never give a 10 as you can always do just that little bit more!

I don't think I've read comments like that before on this forum. If it's correct that 7,500 turned up then I should imagine nearly all would attend next game plus quite a few more. Looking good, in fact very good. Only problem is, can I have my Noircat predictions back, I need to make some alterations?

I saw this on another forum about the Club being good to the fans.I hope they can keep this up! :)

"Thought I'd tell you all about a good bit of PR from the club.

This weekend was my daughters 6th birthday and as a result her party was booked 2-4 on Saturday. I tweeted the club that morning after a birthday Tweet for my little one and what they came back with was fantastic.

They invited us to the club at 4 when the party was finished and she was given a flag along with a programme signed by Cody with a birthday message (he's her favourite). They then said we could come in and watch the rest of the game if we wanted.

About 5 minutes after we were put in the Medway Stand, Charlotte Richardson (her in charge of PR) came down and said we were moving. She then took us up to the boxes where Cody had invited us to watch the game with him and the other players, happily posing for photos with the birthday girl.

Top work from the Gills and apparently this sort of thing looks set to continue so just wanted to spread how chuffed me and my daughter were with their excellent work, especially following a time where all the news seemed to be bad news.

A good bit of PR, Jesus that's like saying the Popes a bit Catholic. Someone please inform the PR department that befor every home game I will be helping out at the old folks home where young Mr. Lidbit lives, teaching Ultimate Fighting Classes to the over 80's (see you next year Mr. Lidbit) and I don't leave till 3, but I can be there by 3.07, and if they can give me a parking place next to Scallys in the back lot I will be available to be escorted to my box around 3.10, thank you very much.

Absolutely. We've had YEARS of people moaning at how little the club did anything to engage fans and now they have. Some out of necessity but this instead KFG mentions is well above and beyond expectations.

Charlotte Richardson came in as head of marketing in the summer from Kent FA and has really galvanised the fans through social media. Poor Phill in the media department was covering 3 people's jobs and could barely do his own so it has made a difference. Attendances are always lower in August, they just always are, so even taking the 1800 United fan's off that total there were 5700 Gills fans there (although in reality it was in the mid 6000s as there would always be a few hundred away fans there anyway). This is about a 1000 up on average so whether that was due to the opposition or the work Charlotte did in the summer we won't know. We won't know against Wigan either unless it is a poor gate as they will also be a big draw. Either way if people enjoy the atmosphere and are treated well the gates will only increase and any little "giveaways" would be an investment. The trouble is getting people in through the doors in the first place. Maybe we might just be appealing to more people to do just that.

Cadburyman I said it's like saying the Popes a bit Catholic , you do not understand what that means as in I obviously he is a LOT CATHOLIC, I don't think there are to many things I could have said to praise the Gills anymore is there ?

If you made the comment without all the puerile drivel that ensued folk might actually have understood what you were trying to say
